Martin J Featherston and Nothing Sacred: A Divine Comedy

Author Martin Featherston with his novel Nothing Sacred: A Divine Comedy paired with Writer’s Tears Irish Whiskey

About the Book: Nothing Sacred follows downtrodden journalist Earl Grey (yes, really) and his bumbling efforts to unravel the mysteries of life, the universe and everything while interviewing a dying stranger in a Phoenix hospital bed – a stranger others claim to be God.

Amongst the chaos and creation, Earl finds himself between heaven and earth as he tries to avoid the petty politics of the hospital’s scheming administrators and the sinister motives of priests, nuns and mobsters, along with the lascivious distractions of a beautiful television news reporter.

As Earl’s quest to discover the stranger’s identity deepens, he is thrust into the global media glare and onto a universal path that might lead to the salvation of all humanity. Maybe. It all depends on whether Earl can get his shit together.

About the Beverage: Martin recommends pairing his novel with Writer’s Tears Irish Whiskey because “The perfect name aside, this gorgeous Irish libation is the perfect companion for a story steeped in wit and head-scratching mystery. Like the Irish, a tall tale is rarely spun without a sip of the creature to loosen one's tongue, stress, and mind. Writer's Tears is accessible, whimsical, and in no way harsh or in-your-face. It's not preachy or high-brow but down-to-earth and comforting. Leaving one with a warm glow of satisfaction and the feeling of blissful revelation.”

About the Author: Before belly-flopping into the deep end of the writing pool, Martin spent several excruciating decades in the business world. However, during that time, he did manage to find great joy as a part-time lecturer at Montreal's McGill University.

Now, freed from politically correct corporate-speak and the obligation to wear pants, he writes short stories and fictional novels from his home in Canada.

Born in Rugby, England, Martin was snatched from the crib and quickly immersed in all facets of British humour. He spent his childhood looking for the meaning of life through a lens dominated by Goons, Pythons, and Galactic Hitchhikers. So, it should be no surprise that, as a grown man, his global perspective remains a tad bent.

NOTHING SACRED: A DIVINE COMEDY is available at online retailers worldwide and here.
