Trish MacEnulty and The Whispering Women
About the Book: Louisa Delafield wants a news story; Ellen wants revenge. Two such different allies could hardly be imagined, but both are under a corrupt system that still wears a straitlaced Victorian costume. Arrayed against them are a society abortionist, a vicious brothel keeper, and powerful forces that work in the dark to keep their secrets from the light of day.
About the Beverage: Trish recommends pairing THE WHISPERING WOMEN with Moet & Chandon Champagne because βit was definitely around in 1913 Manhattan, and except for the occasional glass of red wine, it's what society writer Louisa Delafield drank at the fashionable parties she attended. Also, I will be drinking it when Netflix, HBO, or Prime decide to make a limited series based on the Delafield & Malloy Investigations!β
About the Author: THE WHISPERING WOMEN is Trish MacEnulty's debut as a historical fiction novelist. She has previously published four novels, a short story collection, and a memoir. A former Professor of English at Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, NC, she currently lives in Florida with her husband, two dogs, and one cat and teaches journalism.
THE WHISPERING WOMEN is available on Amazon Kindle for $2.99; Order a paperback from Amazon ($17.99) or through your favorite Independent Bookstore
