Steven William Hannah and The First Rule

Author Steven William Hannah with his novel The First Rule and a glass of 19 Crimes California Red

About the Book: A young woman with a secret so awful that it impressed the God of Secrets has to face certain death, or worse, in order to save people who do not deserve it; or does she?

The First Rule is a dark fantasy mystery novel about missing girls, divination, redemption, and duty, reminiscent of a low-level Dungeons and Dragons campaign.

About the Beverage: Steven recommends pairing his novel with 19 Crimes Red because “Venalia, the newly ordained Priestess on the cover of The First Rule, consumes a fair amount of wine during the course of the story. She favors a Sarantja Red, a full and fruity wine from the vineyards of her adoptive father; sadly, given that she is stuck in the frozen, wild north, she has to make do with the paint-thinner that passes for wine. For extra points, drink it from a ram's horn.”

About the Author: Steven William Hannah is the author of the cosmic-horror/post-apocalyptic Interloper Trilogy and new dark fantasy series The Blind Age; lover of semi-colons, renowned for reading masses of self-published novels, and finding the diamonds amongst the rough.

THE FIRST RULE is available in paperback and ebook on Amazon and is on Kindle Unlimited. His DMs are always open and he’s always looking for great self-pub writers to read and shout about.
