Sara Hosey and Imagining Elsewhere

Author Sara Hosey with her novel Imagining Elsewhere paired with a Tab!

About the Book: It’s 1988, and former bulky Astrid is forced to move from Queens to the small town of Elsewhere. Although the town is totally weird, Astrid sees the move as a way to reinvent herself. That is, until Candi – the teenage tyrant with supernatural powers who rules Elsewhere – decides she wants Astrid to be her new bestie. Who knew being a better person would be so dangerous?

About the Beverage: Sara recommends pairing her novel with Tab! because “the book is set in the 80s, so Tab or maybe Tang would be perfect.”

About the Author: Sara Hosey is the author of two young adult novels, “Iphigenia Murphy,” called “one of 2020’s best,” and “Imagining Elsewhere,” which Kirkus describes as an “interesting take on power, bullying, and fear.“ Her third ya novel is coming out in August 2023 and a short story collection will be published in 2024. Sara is a community college professor and a tree enthusiast, and when she’s not writing or teaching she likes spending time with her family and pets in upstate New York.
