Peggy Joque Williams and Courting the Sun: A Novel of Versailles
About the Book: Can a free-spirited country girl navigate the world of intrigue, illicit affairs, and power-mongering that is the court of Louis XIV—the Sun King--and still keep her head? That is the question asked in Courting the Sun.
About the Beverage: Peggy recommends pairing her novel with a glass of Chateau Ste. Michelle because “While it is an American Pacific Northwest winery, it evokes the essence of French wines. I love a good Cab, deep red and full-bodied, which captures the spirit of my main character, Sylvienne, who is free-spirited but doesn't recognize her own beauty.”
About the Author: Peggy Joque Williams is the author of Courting the Sun: A Novel of Versailles and co-author of two mystery novels, On the Road to Death’s Door and On the Road to Where the Bells Toll, written under the penname M. J. Williams. A retired elementary school teacher and avid researcher, Peggy's fascination with genealogy and her French-Canadian, European, and Native American ancestry inspires her historical fiction. She lives in Madison, Wisconsin.
COURTING THE SUN: A NOVEL OF VERSAILLES is available in paperback, Kindle, large print paperback, and audiobook from Amazon. The audiobook is also available through Apple Books. The paperback and large print editions are available at Barnes & Noble, Bookshop.org, and your favorite local indie bookstore.
