Kathleen Marple Kalb and The Stuff of Murder

Author Kathleen Marple Kalb and her novel The Stuff of Murder with a homemade lemonade with honey and splash of New Haven County-made Brazi’s Limoncello

About the Book: She’s an expert on historic stuff, but when a fading movie star ends up dead in Christian Shaw's little town, a whole different kind of stuff hits the fan. Using her knowledge of old things, Christian tracks the killer with the help of a colorful cast, including her mentor and his former cop husband, her rabbi, and her son Henry, who has Type-1 diabetes and a photographic memory. All while running the local Historical Society and starting a sweet second-chance romance with a hot prosecutor.

About the Beverage: Kathleen recommends pairing her novel with a homemade lemonade with honey…and a splash of a New Haven County-made Brazi’s Limoncello because “My main character, Christian Shaw, a historian with a special expertise in old stuff, makes lemonade after she mows the lawn. In one of my short stories, she adds the limoncello (made at a legendary local restaurant, Brazi's) after catching a killer. In New Haven County, Connecticut, where Christian lives, there's a huge Italian community and a very strong cultural influence.”

About the Author: Kathleen Marple Kalb describes herself as an Author/Anchor/Mom…not in that order. An award-winning weekend anchor at New York’s 1010 WINS Radio, she writes short stories and novels, including THE STUFF OF MURDER, from Level Best Books and (as Nikki Knight) the Hit Mom mystery, WRONG POISON from Charade Media. Her stories have been published in Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery Magazine, Black Cat Weekly, online, and in anthologies. She’s Vice President of the Short Mystery Fiction Society and Co-Vice President of New York/Tri-State Sisters in Crime. She, her husband, and her son live in a Connecticut house owned by their cat.

THE STUFF OF MURDER is available from Level Best Books and on Amazon.
