J.A. Nielsen and Fractured Kingdoms: The Claiming

Author J.A. Nielsen with her novel The Claiming and a pot of tea

About the Book: A spell gone very wrong leaves young mage Spense, accidentally bonded to Dewy—Fae Princess of the Summer Court. It’s a violation of magic. And a huge diplomatic headache. The princess isn’t too pleased, either. To be free of the vexing spell, Spense and Dewy must face the wilds of faerie, treacherous dark magic, and their own troublesome hearts.

About the Beverage: J.A. recommends pairing her book with an Everything Tea, either "Raspberry Sunrise" or "Mountain Huckleberry" because “The faeries draw their magic from nature. These herbal tea blends are magic themselves. I imagine this is what it tastes like to really breathe in the mountains and the forests and the essence of sweet, wild berries.”

About the Author: J.A. Nielsen is the author of the YA Fantasy, The Claiming (Fractured Kingdoms, Book 1), and winner of the 2020 Pacific Northwest Writers Association Literary Contest for Young Adult literature. She has spent most of her professional life in education—as a therapist, teacher, librarian, and administrator. When not writing, she is most likely playing with her family in the forest, on the water, or in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest.

FRACTURED KINGDOMS: THE CLAIMING is available at Invitation Bookshop and anywhere books are sold $18.99 Print $4.99 Digital on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
