Claire Gillies and Threads of a Highland Heart

Author Claire Gillies with her novel Threads of a Highland Heart and a flat white from Glenfinnan Coffee Co

About the Book: Known for her impeccable fashion sense, Lori Robertson’s award-winning boutique, Couturier on the Pier, quickly becomes the talk of the Highlands. But when a mysterious stranger arrives in town, Lori's rekindled romance with high school sweetheart Callum Macrae is put to the test.

With the opportunity of a lifetime dangling before her, Lori must skillfully navigate the intricate tapestry of work, love, and family.

Can Lori weave the perfect pattern for her future, or will the threads of her life unravel under mounting pressure?

In this heartwarming tale of second chances and self-discovery, Lori must confront her inner demons to find out where her true happiness lies.

About the Beverage: Claire recommends pairing her book with “A flat white from the wonderful Glenfinnan Coffee Co, where I also sell my books. It's a small horsebox cafe set in the highlands, overlooking a loch and the viaduct for Harry Potter fans wanting a glimpse of the steam train! I recommend reading my book with a rich cup, surrounded by beauty.” (If you ever find yourself there, say hello to Claire’s brother; he runs the cafe!)

About the Author: Claire Gillies writes heart-warming, uplifting women's fiction set in Scotland. Having grown up in the Scottish Highlands, Claire later lived in Australia for several years, working in retail and creating her own fashion label. Now back in Scotland, Claire resides in beautiful Inverness-shire with her family. She finds inspiration in her love of folklore, costume, and history, which infuse and shape her writing. She is a cat lover (without the cat) and takes her other interests very seriously - coffee, cake, and gin!
